The study is being conducted by a research team at innovation Research and Training (iRT), a behavioral science research company in Durham, North Carolina and it is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The goal of this study is to examine how families discuss opportunities to participate in pediatric clinical trials.
WHAT WILL PARENTS AND TEENS BE ASKED TO DO?
Parents and teens will discuss pretend medical studies together and fill out short surveys. Some families will do a follow-up interview about their experiences.
Participation is voluntary and participants can stop at any time. Responses will be kept confidential.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
The parent-teen discussion will take approximately 1 hour.
Follow-up interviews will take approximately 1 hour each.
Participation is completely online.
WHAT WILL PARENTS AND TEENS GET FOR PARTICIPATING?
Families will receive Amazon gift cards for completing study activities (up to a total of $200).
